Knowledge Organisation Systems

Brian Vickery is 90 years old this year. He had just retired as Professor at the School of Library, Archive and Information Studies, University College London when I went there to do my Master’s in the mid-80s. I’ve had half a career since then while it seems he’s had an extremely productive retirement after five or six productive careers. And he’s just published the clearest exposition of the current state of Knowledge Organisation Systems (KOS) I’ve seen. I’m jealous. Thanks to VocabControl for this lead.

I was browsing for “taxonomy” postings and came across your very generous blog. The least I can do is to order your book from Amazon! I am sorry we just missed each other at UCL. Best wishes.
